About Us

Wayne Sheldrick is a Canadian teacher, part-time professor, and author of eight books.  His books focus  on providing practical strategies teachers can use to turn their classrooms into positive, safe, and inviting environments in which their students can learn and grow.  His book First Week of School provides a blueprint for the first year teacher beginning their career.  Everything they need to do and prepare for the first week of school to set the tone for a successful year.  It is  also ideal for any teacher not satisfied with how their current year is progressing and wanting to get off to a better start to their next school year.

Dr. Sheldrick has extensive experience as a classroom teacher in both an inclusive setting as well as dedicated classes for students with learning difficulties and behavioral issues.  For more than twenty years he has been a part-time professor in the Faculty of Education at the University of Ottawa specializing in curriculum design and evaluation, theories of learning, and students with learning and behavioral difficulties.

Wayne currently lives in Ottawa, Canada with his wife and Jack Russell Terrier, Enzo.  He has four children, one grandson and another one due at the start of the new school year.
